I am taking the HFS exam in 5 weeks and I am wondering what are some good study tools, tips, etc. Also is there anywhere online where I can take practice tests? I have the ACSM Certification Review Book as well as GETP book
Study al of the material that they have given you inside and out. Do some research and perhaps locate others. I am in Canada so mine was likely different but no less as good.
Looking for FITNESS BOOKS? Yes, FITNESS BOOKS. It’s all here!
I can do around 120 pushups 130 on a good day to TMF in 2:00 minuets, I can do numerous amounts of sit-ups and pass the 100 mark in 2:00 minuets, I can do about 28 pull-ups, I consider myself as a average swimmer and capable of passing the NFPT with a good score on the swimming part, and I can run 2 miles in 10 minuets, I’M AM NOT SAYING THIS FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS BY ANY MEANS…It has been my dream since I was a kid to join the Navy SEALs and have been training rigorously for the past 4 years…
But I’m 5’5 maybe 5’6 on a good day and my question for you is will the instructors judge me on my height rather than my abilities
Thx
That’s good that you want to follow through on something like this. You may want to think about this however. If you don’t make it in the seals there really isn’t any other combat arms jobs in the navy. I’ve been in the marine corps infantry for four years and have been on numerous navy vessels. I can’t tell you how many pissed off guys I came across sweeping the floors or shinning brass. All because they didn’t make it either they weren’t in good enough shape or like most people sustained injury. Just something to think about the army or the marines have various units that are similar to the Seals just not as well known. I’d go army they have so many options. Anyways just thought I would share that with you.
Does anyone know about this company. I just received my certification from them and how does it compare to ACSM, Ace and others? They said they would hire me to proctor exams has anyone done this before and was it a good or bad experiece. Thank you Shawna
Great program. I proctored for them in 2004 and unfortunately let my contract run out without renewing it. As a proctor I got an opportunity to speak to a lot of differnt types of fitness professionals and what I learned was that ACE and some of the others who are really well known are not as good as Scirion who is not as well known. The ACE and NASM exam are easy compared to scirions. ACSM is a great certification and you no longer need a college degree to get one so that’s really cool.
Anyway, I had to stop because I moved back to Sandy Hook and so I basically had to forfeit my three centers I ran in Dallas. It was a really good opportunity and you should do really well.
Choosing & Becoming a Personal Trainer : Personal Training Certifications
I'm Julie and thanks for visiting. I became a personal trainer over 3 years ago and have never looked back. Had I not had the extra info from personaltrainerjobs.com I may not have ever gotten certified and started my own personal training business.
