what personal trainer certification are recognized by major gyms?
im trying to become a personal trainer, and i see many different certifications.
such as: ace, afpa, nfpt, nsca, acsm, afta, afaa, ifpa, issa.
which ones are legitimate and nationally recognized and which ones are not?
your answers are greatly appreciated, thanks!
I am personally certified thru ISSA, it is one of the more highly recognized ones. ACE is a good one as well. The biggest thing is to make sure the personal trainer you choose was not certified through the gym they work at. Generally speaking commercial gyms have no problems certifying any joe off the street. Ask for references and credentials and you should do fine. Most of the ones you listed are decent.
