lots of people tell me to go for it
You seem to know all the technical parts of being a trainer and the need for certification. Plus you’ve got an inspirational personal story. The real question to ask yourself is: do you like working with people, instructing people how to work out properly. Would you like showing people how to do bench presses and squats properly, how to build a personal nutrition program, or lifestyle modification. I’ve had personal trainers. The best ones I had weren’t necessarily the most technically knowledgeable. The best ones were the most inspirational and clearly liked motivating me and other people and were a lot of fun to workout with. I looked forward to working out with them, even if I knew they were going to work my butt off. I felt like I was getting my money’s worth. If that’s you, then go for it!
