Issa Haiku

Anyone up for some haiku this morning?

Anyone up for some haiku this morning?

Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry consisting of three lines. The first and third lines have 5 syllables, while the second line has 7 syllables. Here is an example:

Look, don’t kill that fly!
It is making a prayer to you
By rubbing its hands and feet.

Here, I’ll write one to get it started:

1.
pantless, the baby
runs into the yard and she
shrieks with great loud joy

2.
the wide world is not
wide enough to contain her
most big giant smelly diaper

3.
the child cannot rest
until she has moved it all
all onto the floor

Three Haiku for Curious Said Alice

#1 Creation

Does the blade feel good
To the wood upon the lathe
Being made lovely?

#2 Diversity

“Bitter,” she whispered,
“Well-seasoned, but not to taste,”
Sprang into my mind.

#3 Us

Bipolarity-
Two worlds, two minds, one species-
A neat arrangement.
