I like fixing computers,…..where to begin for basic certifications?
OK I feel pretty dumb even having to ask this question but I’m finding answers leading in so many directions…
So I like to troubleshoot and fix computers for my friends and family. I’ve been told many times I should get certified and make some money doing this.
I have a great job that allows me enough free time to get some proper training and work on the side. My math skills are appalling so I don’t think I’ll ever be destined for programming.
What are some classes or certifications I should start with?
Yes I thought COMPTIA A+ would be the way to start. Just wanted to be sure I wasn’t overlooking something.
Your experience will help you out. Study up on how you want to get certified. Look into what programs are offered at higher institutions and vocational schools.
My best suggestion is to study the basic hardware and software certifications, usually those sponsored through Comptia. If you need a classroom setting, visit some schools in your area and discuss what you’re aiming for. Either way works-it just depends on your approach.
